India runs on three wheels ..."
- Anonymous

I heard someone say once, "Too bad that the real people who seem to know everything about running India, the Indian cricket team, Bollywood, the schools, the slums, the high-society ... they are busy driving auto-richshaws and cutting hair!"

Ok ... it's derived from a G. B. Shaw quote - but itsn't it just true!

This tshirt is for us who have always shared a love-hate relationship with these rickshaws - right from the first time we stepped into one of these (with our moms, perhaps)!! Why love-hate? Well ...

We love this modern poetry in motion, but we hate it when they swirl and twirl to fill every inch of a gap  ... We want them to go off the Indian roads, but most of us would be devastated if they really do ... We find them safer than two-wheelers, cheaper than four, but we hate arguing with the sometimes-lousy rickshaw-waalahs when they charge us an extra 5 bucks ...

There are reasons aplenty. That's why we couldn't have done without paying this (literally!) fitting tribute to the tiger of Indian streets - affectionally called the "Indian Limo"!

Front:
We have 9 tapori rickshaws letching on a beautiful female-rickess ... and, of course, the punchline! We spent more than 2 hours on the roads to observe the rickshaws in detail, and more than 2 months to reveal the same details on the canvas of the tshirt.

There are no less than 6 colors on the front (that explains why this is one of the most expensive tshirts on Toube Bas) that bring the rickshaws to life - full of expressions, and poses!

And how about the jazzy punchline?! How many times have we heard the some ignorant mumbaiyya tapori saying "riks" for "risk" ... in such an adorable way!

Back:
Working on the back was an experience itself! You know what - we almost forgot to add the nimbu-mirchi at the bottom until we noticed one of the rickshaws on the street boasting of one! :)

"Love Is Slow Posion" ... well ... we had a number of options here ... but were instantly flattered by this oh-so-philosophical thought, with 'poison' conveniently misspelt as 'poison'! Ofcourse, we chose to maintain it that way :)

While you check the other stuff, can you guess why the number MYB 3047 on the plate? This beats you, isn't it? Well ... it's the license plate of this most famous bike in Indian cinema ...!

Left Sleeve:
We had to highlight the Indian-ness of this tshirt ... and here's the graphic that we chose to put on the sleeve:

The Indian Rickshaw Tshirt - Sleeve

This is one ideal purchase for people who love the little nuisances in India, plus visitors who want to take back a souvenir from this fascinating land! :)
